On Thursday, July 19th, Jason officially asked me to marry him – and I said “YES!” We wanted to make sure family members were notified first and now that that is done, we are ready to officially announce our engagement.
I wish I could remember everything that he said, but it was one of those moments that left my head spinning just a little. One of the most important things I remember is that Jason reminded me that God has a plan for each of us and the plan is for good – even when we fail Him time and time again, He never fails us. Jason talked about our life verses – his is 1 Peter 1:6-7 which states, “In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith - of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire - may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.” Mine is Ephesians 3:20 which states, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us…”

We do feel that we through our choices, failures, trials, and challenges, we have grown as individuals and as a couple and we want to use those lessons for good and to help others. We have been blessed in spite of ourselves and for that we are very humbled and thankful.
I will have to share a better picture of the ring later, because the only two I have were taken on cell phones and aren’t the best quality. As with many engagements, I got the ring on Thursday and on Monday we returned it to the jeweler for sizing.
We will be married in a small family ceremony at Jason’s parent's home in Salado, Texas in December. We are super excited for all God has in store for our blended and extended family going forward. Our hope is that God is glorified through our relationship and our marriage and that all our children and family members will benefit from that.
