The title of my blog comes from Ephesians 3:20 - "Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory..." God has blessed me far more abundantly than I could have ever dreamed and I am so humbled by and undeserving of these blessings.

Snowmobiling

We are home now from our incredible Christmas vacation in Colorado.  I brought home a nasty case of bronchitis, so I spent my first two hours back home yesterday at Tyler Urgent Care.  They fixed me right up with a Celestone shot and some antibiotics and high powered cough syrup.  With some TLC from Jason last night and a good night’s sleep, I am feeling so much better this morning.  I thought I would catch up on a little blogging to finish out the trip.

One of the activities that was recommended to us by more than one person was to take a snowmobile tour in the mountains.  It was a splurge, but well worth every penny.  We had a clear and gorgeous sunny day to take in the views.  The adults enjoyed the speed and freedom of driving and most of our passengers enjoyed the ride as well.  Hutch fell sound asleep on Jason’s snowmobile, so we had to do some regrouping in the middle of our tour.

Since we enjoyed tubing so much the day before, we decided to go back for a few more runs…

It has been an amazing week and this would not have been possible without Poppie and Mamaw.  Thank you so much for your generosity to us and our children so we could enjoy Christmas in Colorado together.  It will be a Christmas none of us will ever forget.

Now that was a ton of fun!   We weren’t ready for it to end.

Christmas Day

I was pretty much out of it on Christmas Day but Jane E and Dad took care of pictures so I wouldn’t miss a thing.  However, I am very behind on my blogging, so I am going to just copy over Jane E’s blogs about Christmas Day and then I may come back and add a few pictures or thoughts of my own later.

The kids had a great time digging through their Christmas stockings from Santa…

Christmas Morn

And the kids and adults enjoyed the beautiful day outside having snowball fights, building a fire in the pit, sledding down hills, a gift exchange and a Game of Things…

More Colorado Christmasing

We just got back to the house after going to the Frisco Adventure Park and tubing.  The kids and kids at heart had a wonderful time and we have reservations to return tomorrow after our snowmobile tour.

Christmas Eve

After a couple of days on the slopes, we were really looking forward to some R&R.  Unfortunately I haven’t gotten much of either since instead I have a nice case of either bronchitis or a sinus infection.  I am going on my 3rd day now of no sleep, a killer headache, and a painful cough and I am hoping for some antibiotics tomorrow when the stores are open again.  However, despite how lousy I feel, it has been a very memorable and special couple of days at the house in Frisco.

On Christmas Eve, Uncle Brent, Cody, and Courtney surprised the kids (and some adults) with a Christmas tree, lights, decorations, and some holiday activities.

The beautiful finished Christmas tree…not bad for a last minute $15 tree, some clothespin ornaments, construction paper chains, candy canes, and colored lights…

Thanks for making Christmas Eve morning so special for the kids.

Once all that fun was over, we had yet another surprise for the kiddos – a horse drawn sleigh ride in the snow!

Then headed back, singing Christmas carols all the way…we still had a lot of Christmas Eve left – Brent’s chili and Christmas Vacation…
