The title of my blog comes from Ephesians 3:20 - "Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory..." God has blessed me far more abundantly than I could have ever dreamed and I am so humbled by and undeserving of these blessings.

Boys Will be Boys

On Memorial Day, Daddy, Brent and Cody went out to Jason Cooper’s house/property to shoot some guns.  Yes, boys will be boys.  They had a great time and Misty, Jason’s girlfriend, was sweet enough to take and send me a few shots of them during their visit.

The crew, including Jason’s Dad, Jerry…

The guys said this was a very fun way to end their already wonderful Memorial Day weekend.  Thanks again to the Coopers for inviting them over!

Little League Playoffs

Cole’s Brewers Majors team and Connor’s Reds Minors team both made it to the playoffs for Rose Capital West this week.  They both played their first games tonight at Faulkner Park and here are some of the pictures I was able to capture of each of their games.

For Cole, his team played at 5:45 and they won in a close game that came down to the last run of the last inning.  Cole pitched very well and hit one to the fence!

For Connor, his team played the #2 team in their division at 8:00 and they pulled out an upset in extra innings thanks to Connor’s HOME RUN!

Both boys play again on Thursday night and if they win again, the championship games are on Saturday.  Way to go Cole and Connor – very proud of you both!

Memorial Day Weekend

Jason had GSOA basketball camp this weekend in Lewisville, which had been planned for months.  When we got home from Hawaii, we found out that family was coming in for the Memorial Day weekend and we were going to miss out on all the fun.  Fortunately, we were able to enjoy dinner, a birthday party for Hutch, and some family time on Friday night.  In addition, Jason had two games on Saturday, two games on Sunday, and we were thrilled to find out he wasn’t going to have any games on Monday.  That meant we wouldn’t miss out on the entire weekend after all!

We got home about 9:30 on Sunday night and Cannon and Neely came and stayed the night with us, as did Cody, Courtney and Marley.  We stayed up until about 1:30 in Monday morning catching up with Cody and Courtney and slept in on Monday after three days of going to bed late and waking up way too early.  We missed out on Neely skiing since Jane E and the kids left early Monday, but I just read her blogs and wanted to share all the fun we missed.

Fun Day on the Lake and Lake Bums

Jason and I did get to enjoy some time with Courtney at the Hollytree pool on Monday while the guys (Daddy, Brent and Cody) went out to the Cooper house to shoot guns and Mama stayed back to clean up the house after all her guests left.  We had made a trip to Fresh before heading to the pool, so we fixed a delicious dinner last night at the Yearty house – grilled chicken, hot links, squash/zucchini, salad with homemade balsamic dressing (thanks to my sweet DIL), quinoa and brown rice, and a baguette.  Yum!  After a weekend of eating out and watching basketball I was ready for a home cooked meal.  We had a good visit on the back patio thanks to a nice breeze and enjoyed watching Marley and Winnie chase each other around the backyard (actually Marley did most of the chasing and not much catching – that Winnie is fast!).  It was sad to see everyone go after such a short amount of time with them.  We may have to rethink Lewisville in future summers if we are going to miss out on all this lake fun!

Connor

This would be a blog about Cole and Connor but we found out tonight that Cole will be missing his last little league game tomorrow night.  So, I am blogging a day earlier and this is now a blog about Connor.

Connor had a great little league season – pitching, catching, playing first and playing third and he was much more confident at the plate with his batting.  He pitched what his coach said was the best pitched game of the season last week!

I got some great shots of him tonight with my awesome camera…

Way to go Connor and way to go Reds!  They made the playoffs with a win tonight, so we’ll be back at the ballpark next Tuesday night to cheer him on.

Last Day–Hawaii 2013 (May 13th)

Although most of our Georgia and Texas families have been in bed for quite awhile, our dinner ended about an hour ago and we headed straight back to the condo (after a small detour from a little wrong turn out of the traffic circle).  What a wonderful last day on this beautiful island.

We checked out another beach today, Mauna Kea – known for its boogie boarding.  We were a little disappointed in the boogie boarding, but the beach was beautiful from all angles.

Brothers boogie boarding (I did some boogie boarding of my own but I don’t have any pictures to prove it)…

After some lunch and pool time, we went for our special celebratory dinner at Brown’s Beach House.  We were celebrating two honeymoons and one 40-year anniversary.

Thanks to Kit and Betty for treating us to this wonderful dinner on the beach as part of our Christmas last year.  It was the best meal yet and we shared some wonderful sentiments as we celebrated our marriages together.  I feel incredibly blessed to be a part of such an amazing family.  Kit and Betty have set a wonderful example for their sons and I hope we enjoy each other as much 40 years from now as they still do today.
