Every year, GCS 3rd Graders study historical figures in America, select a character to represent in the history hall of fame, and write a speech to tell others about their person.
Ashley selected Rosa Parks…a black woman that refused to give up her seat on the bus for a white person and helped spark the civil rights movement…
Ashley and some of her classmates/historical figures…
Giving her speech…
Mrs. McArthur’s 3rd Grade Class…
Photo ops with the famous historical figure and birthday girl…
Ashley and two of her best friends, Hadley and Reagan…
I think Ashley had a wonderful 9th birthday, but today was so busy that we had to celebrate last night with dinner at Shogun. Today she had Hall of Fame, then donuts for her classroom, a tennis lesson, and Connor’s baseball game. She received the movie, “Catching Fire” from Papa and Bebe for her birthday, so we are enjoying some family time watching that to round out the big day. What a wonderful blessing she is to our lives and I am so thankful that God chose me to be her mom 9 years ago today.
