Well, I am definitely behind on my blogging since Day 1 was on Saturday, Day 2 was on Sunday and it is already Tuesday night. But, in my defense, we have been very busy having lots of fun.
We had so much fun at The Main Event on Saturday, that the kids voted (and the parents agreed) that the zoo was too hot so we should have some more “air-conditioned” fun. So, after a family vote and a good night’s sleep, and a morning run, we headed back to The Main Event for some things we really enjoyed and some other things we missed out on Saturday.
Ashley’s new favorite sport…
The boys bowled and played pool before they all played laser tag…
After several fun-filled hours, we headed back home to make pizzas…
The pizza making was a lot of fun and we had a lot of leftovers too! We left those with Papa and Bebe on Monday morning when we left early to head to Schlitterbahn Waterpark in New Braunfels. We met Jane E, Cannon and Neely for a day of fun in the sun at the best waterpark around.
Our gang…
Little kids…
Big kids…
Enjoying the day together…
After about 8 hours of Schlitterbahn fun, we were all a bit famished, so we headed down the street to one of our favorite restaurants from when we lived in New Braunfels in the 80s. Same ol’ Pat’s Place, right down to the jukebox and the mason jar glasses…
Best tea around…
We all enjoyed our meals and none of us went away hungry..
The kids pose (in the sun) for a “Pat’s” picture…
Me and my hubby (won’t find too many pictures of us together but we were both there!) Thanks to Jane E for snapping a picture of us!
More family photos to capture great memories…
Of course, a trip to Pat’s wouldn’t be complete without a trip to Ducky’s next door. I would consider this an upscale souvenir shop with a great selection of name brand shoes and swimsuits. We gave each kiddo some money to spend and I wish I had gotten pictures of everyone’s new school shoes. We all had the tags cut off at the store and most of us had the shoes worn before the day was out.
We stopped by Ducky’s Delights for a snow cone and then headed on to the hotel to catch some Z’s before we headed home today. And guess what the kids wanted to do after 8 hours at the waterpark? Yep, they wanted to go swimming. Crazy kids. Why not? We are on vacation. :)
